Decarbonizing maritime transport: a demonstrator at the service of an industrial breakthrough

In this upcoming Dialogue, Zenon focuses on the decarbonization of maritime transport, a sector that is both central to global trade and particularly constrained by the inertia of its assets and the complexity of its technological choices.

Elsie Nakhle will introduce the main lines of the challenge, by offering an overview of the possible trajectories, between fuel substitution and the redesign of energy architectures, as well as the regulatory and economic tensions that structure investment decisions. Bénédicte Gallon, DGA Energy Observer, will look back on the lessons learned from several years of operating a demonstrator combining renewable energies and hydrogen, and how these data inform industrial perspectives. Didier Bouix, CEO EO Concept, will delve into the engineering and cost dimensions, presenting the key hypotheses of the Energy Observer 2 project and the conditions necessary for a scale-up of hydrogen in maritime transport.
