Calling for innovative, concrete field operations for island development to strengthen resilient marine ecosystems
SMILO formed a partnership with Zenon to promote the islands’ sustainable development. Zenon is a non-profit organization aiming to build a better future through a think tank and an endowment fund. Zenon Impact provides grants and investments for effective, efficient, and sustainable projects that target marine ecosystems to make them more resilient to climate change.
The partnership launches a Call for proposals of SMILO Islands Fund with the cooperation of the Conservatoire du littoral. The call supports innovative, concrete field operations that advance island development while strengthening resilient marine ecosystems. This call has three focused themes: sustainable energy solutions, sustainable fisheries, and marine ecosystems conservation and restoration. And grants can range from €1,000 to €15,000.
Small islands that are actively engaged in the Sustainable Island certification process and members of the SMILO network are welcome to participate and share their ideas. You have until April 1st, 2022 at 5 pm (CET).
